Tesla could detect and react, can you?

It is about the “Tesla”, valued at $767 Billion, a behemoth worth more than Toyota, Volkswagen, General Motors, Ford, Fiat Chrysler, Nissan, and Daimler combined.

Last week news broke about Alex Khailtov, who brazenly (as Tesla described) stole 26000 files of its software code and trade secrets by copying the files in his personal Dropbox account. They claim that it has spent an estimated “200 man-years of work” to develop the code in question.

My obvious hint is to you, as a leader of your organization. Almighty Tesla could detect it and react to it. Can you? Every enterprise like your organization has trade secrets, intellectual property, proprietary or NDA bound technical data like designs, drawings, cost sheets, customer data, business data.

It is about modern-day challenges for which most of us are not prepared. Imagine following situations.

1. An employee uploads all confidential excels, accounts data, designs, drawings on his personal DropBox and google drive. He gets a 3X jump in salary from the new employer.
2. An employee leaks tender bid price and documents to the competitor by Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) through an email attachment. Nobody knows why they lose the tender bid.
3. An employee takes all intellectual property on Pen drive. The Company has to defend prosecution owing to NDA violations.
4. An Employee has all confidential data and emails on his mobile phone.
5. An employee deletes all designs, drawings, excel files shared with him on the server. The Organization is still wondering who did it. That employee is still working with that enterprise and can repeat the havoc at any time.
6. In pandemic times, your employees need to work from home using their personal computers, and you are worried about data leakage, theft, and security.

{Field1}, I want to make a point. In the times to come, prevention of Data Loss, Leakage, and Theft will be mandatory to avoid competitive exploitation.
